BDI AutoClicker – Wireless Load Position Indicator

A critical component of diagnostic testing is to monitor the position of the load during a complete cycle. The BDI “AutoClicker” can be adapted for tracking vehicle positions, lift gate heights, barge speeds and many others.

For bridge testing, the AutoClicker is temporarily mounted of the truck or locomotive near the front axle. A retroreflective target is then clamped or magnetically mounted to the rotating wheel. Each time the target passes the AutoClicker sensor, the on-board radio transmits a signal to a receiver attached to the data acquisition system which in turn puts a “mark” in the data stream.

The BDI AutoClicker system has been designed for use with the BDI Structural Testing System (STS), however, it can be adapted for use with most other systems as well. The system is also supplied with a spare handheld radio to aid communications between testing personnel.
